Sgabello "SELLA" - Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

Negli anni 50 parlare al telefono era molto costoso. Per ridurre la durata delle chiamate, i fratelli Castiglioni, progettarono lo sgabello basculante Sella. Lo sgabello è costituito da tre componenti fondamentali: la sella, il tubo e il basamento. La sella, ricavata da una bicicletta da corsa, è in pelle nera; l'asta è in acciaio verniciato di rosa per ricordare la "La Gazzetta dello Sport" mentre il basamento è realizzato in fusione di ghisa.

In the 1950s, telephone calls were very expensive. Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed the Sella tilting stool to reduce the duration of calls. The stool consists of three fundamental components: the saddle, the tube and the base. The racing bicycle's saddle is made of black leather; the stem is made of pink steel to recall the newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport"; the base is made of cast iron.
